This evening, I finally started putting pen to paper on the Enchanted Land. What I mean to say is that I wrote the words ‘The Enchanted Land’ on the back of an old football team sheet (got to save paper, people!)
What is The Enchanted Land? As you might imagine, it is a magickal* world that humans can enter if they know where to look – or if they’re invited. Matthew and Sarah, two rather ordinary school friends, receive such an invitation. How? Well, that would be a spoiler! For now, I’ll just say that Matthew makes a brave decision when in a sticky situation.
The Enchanted Land will delight and inspire children from, I don’t know, the age of 8 or 9 to 13, I guess. At least, they had that effect on my two children. It was quite a challenge making up bedtime stories on the hoof but the effort was worth it as it formed the groundwork for this series of children’s books.
My children are a bit old for the Enchanted Land now but they are pretty excited that I’m finally going to turn their old bedtime stories into a ‘proper book.’ On that note, I guess I had better stop blogging and start writing.
*No typo – the spelling is intentional. I’ll explain some time.
