The Imagining Wall
Book 1 of The Kingfisher Quests
Amber is sick because of a secret locked inside. But the world is in danger, and Amber’s trauma is connected with its salvation. Pursued by energy thieves, dead sorcerers and vicious beasts, Amber must seek and face the truth to solve the riddles of an archaic prophecy.
So begins a voyage of discovery, drawing together neurodiverse characters and contrasting traditions, culminating in Amber’s Persephone-like descent into the heart of her shocking past and a terrifying pursuit towards her brilliant destiny.
“The Imagining Wall is a new adult, visionary fiction novel about a young woman who becomes embroiled in a cryptic quest to save the world from evil while embarking on a journey of self-discovery.” – N.H. King.
Born in Cornwall, N.H. King has always identified with its shifting moods and wild, natural power. His instinct has always been to write, partly to escape from the chaos of growing up alongside a sister with severe learning difficulties. School creative writing exercises quickly became 70 page novelettes!
After dropping out of university, he cared for the disabled in Cardiff, sold bank loans in Leeds and booked hotel beds in Accrington. He finally achieved his degree, a BSc (Hons) in Psychology, but it is writing that always brings him the greatest satisfaction.
Set in the romantic and mystical seaside town of Penzance, ‘The Imagining Wall’ is the first of ‘The Kingfisher Quests’ trilogy: psychospiritual adventures reflecting the complexity of the modern mind as it grapples with the age-old search for truth, meaning and morality.
